TOMO SONE
Creator of 'Written in the dressing room' Tomo Sone has worked with several ballet companies in Japan as well as Japanese renowned choreographers. In 2008 Tomo relocated to Tel Aviv, Israel where she is now based. Tomo is currently working as an independent choreographer and performer, with her work ‘Written in the dressing room’ featuring in Insights Digital 2021. Her works are often inspired by interdisciplinary activities and in the past few years Tomo has collaborated in her pieces with artists such as animators, paper artists, film directors, visual artists, composers, and musicians. Nowadays she is expanding her activity internationally and performing, creating as an invited artist to residency programs and leading movement workshops. In 2010, she established Japan-Israel International Dance Project with Israeli choreographers and dancers. The project have held several shows such as “BEFORE PUPA by Tomo Sone+guests” (2011), “Full Moon Week” (2013), “Las Meninas by Tomo Sone+Guests” (2014), “An Empty Chair” (2015, 2019), and held dance workshops in many places in Japan. Her solo works “Las Meninas” (2014), “Folded, Cut and Crumpled” (2015), “Mobius” (2015) were premiered in Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv, Israel. Awarded “A New Artist for Art and Culture” by Kyoto Municipality in 2010. She is a finalist of the international solo contest with trajectory within the framework of 5th Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México (2020, Mexico City). MOLLY Mc ALISTER
Creator of 'Between Us' Molly Mc Alister (She/Her) is an interdisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, and performer from Dublin, Ireland. Currently based in Edinburgh she graduated in 2021 with a First Class BA(Hons) in Dance and Drama from Performing Arts Studio Scotland and Kingston University. Captivated by the intersectionality of movement, theatre, videography and visual art, her creative work is primarily collaborative and is often multifaceted, with a focus on authenticity and vulnerability. Molly has performed and choreographed for a variety of projects, both stage and screen, across Dublin and Lisbon, and this year she has been selected as a member of Dance Base’s DEBS Bursary scheme for 2021/22; Molly is always open and excited about new possible collaborations. LOTUS STONE
Creator of 'iRONS' Lotus Stone is an emergent production company set up by Sarah Cosgrove, to create courageous, feminist theatre with roots based in physical / visual performance. Following the success of TODAY I BAKE, Lotus Stone has recently completed a new production, iRONS, in collaboration with multi-award winning Director Melanie Jordan. In 2018 Sarah completed the Advanced Diploma in Physical Theatre based at Summerhall, Edinburgh, continuing her training in workshops with Company of Wolves; Sean Kinley; Steve Jarred; Peta Lily and Angela de Castro. Recent work includes narrator for Dr Bunhead’s “Rubbish Puppet Show” at Edinburgh International Science Festival; performer with Oceanallover (Merchant City Festival, Glasgow); Oorographic and Complicite; “Everything That Rises Must Dance” celebrating female movement and the way women have danced throughout history. After graduating from E15 Acting School, she was resident performer for contemporary gallery owner Nicholas Treadwell, pioneer of the SuperHumanist art movement, then performed in various productions on the London pub theatre circuit. Her professional life includes assisting William Brittain-Catlin in the making of a discussion documentary on intelligence and espionage, for Mentorn Media, production at publishers Dorling Kindersley and modelling. Sarah was a freelance fashion stylist and props buyer for commercial and editorial photography, working on high end campaigns for clients to include Saatchi & Saatchi, Tatler, Getty Images, The Ritz Hotel & American Newsweek. ALEXANDRA TSIAPI
Creator of 'Distance Between' Alexandra Tsiapi is a freelance Dance Artist specialized in performance and choreography. She is based in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2014, Alexandra moved from Athens, Greece to Scotland in order to pursue a career in dance. Alexandra has toured work nationally and internationally as part of the National Youth Dance Company of Scotland in 2017. She has collaborated with organizations and companies like Scottish Ballet, Ydance, Shaper Caper and Dance Base. She graduated from The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance with a First Class BA in performance and choreography. Alexandra is now part of “Vaiven Movement Collective” along with Jenna Corker, Carmen Berbel Lapaz and Francesca Till. Through “Vaiven Movement Collective” Alexandra has performed and created the following works: In July 2020, “Vaiven Movement Collective” performed "Fish People", an outdoor dance performance choreographed by Scottish based Dance Artist Jenna Corker with the support of Sussex Dance Network. It was performed live at Lumberton Bay and broadcasted through the online platform Zoom, as part of Neverthere Festival @ Surge 2020. Alexandra choreographed and directed the short film “Distance Between” in 2021 through “Vaiven Movement Collective”. “Shoreway” an outdoor artist led project, part of “Moving Out” choreographed on “Vaiven Movement Collective” by Jenna Corker was performed at Cramond Island in June 2021. Alexandra presented the first part of her solo work “Naiads and Nereids” at Lacuna Festival 2020 in July and at Insights Online Platform 2020 in December. In 2021 through a residency awarded to her by The Work Room @ Tramway, she continued her research on her solo work "Naiads and Nereids" exploring further her abilities to tell stories with her voice and body. Alexandra performed “It was the Soundest Pile of Unwantedness I knew” aka “My Trash Oracle” at Unfix Festival 2021, under the direction of Carmen Berbel Lapaz. Alexandra is interested in collaborative work, outdoor work, and work that is made for unconventional spaces. She aspires to create art that inspires people, provokes critical thinking and discussion. Her practise is based on movement improvisation, influenced by various somatic practises that she has come across.
